Description
The PS Murray Princess is the largest inland paddlewheeler in the southern hemisphere and was built for the Murray River. It has the capacity to cater for 120 passengers. It is 67m in length and has a speed of 6 knots. It is propelled along by a massive stern wheel and is an authentic paddlewheeler. The five decks of the PS Murray Princess are all named after famous explorers of the Murray River:
Charles Stuart 1795 - 1869
William Randell 1824 - 1911
Francis Cadell 1822 - 1879
George Chaffey 1848 - 1932
William Chaffey 1856 - 1926
The PS Murray Princess travels through wetland areas of the Murray River which form the breeding and feeding habitats for many species of waterbirds, fish, plants and invertebrates. Plenty to see, while enjoying refreshments and enjoying the company of family and friends, what's not to like?
